Program: music of J. S. Bach, Edvard Grieg, Olivier Messiaen, Katerina Stamatelos, and George Gershwin


Gretchen Saathoff is a pianist, organist, collaborator, conductor, and vocal coach. After completing her bachelor’s degree at UMass/Amherst, she earned a Master of Music with Distinction at Westminster Choir College. She gained further experience while living in New York for several years, moving back to Amherst in 1999.

Ms. Saathoff has toured the country as pianist with the Norman Luboff Choir, attended the Aspen, Tanglewood, and Alfred University Summer Chamber Music Festivals on fellowship, founded the Kairos Trio (violin, cello, and piano) and the Rautenberg-Saathoff Duo (violin and piano).

Recent performances include a viola recital at Amherst College, a voice recital at Grace Church in Amherst, duo recitals in South Amherst, Hartford, North Haven, and Old Greenwich, and solo recitals in New York, Princeton, South Glastonbury, Amherst, Williamsburg, and Burlington, Iowa, her hometown. She is the Director of Music of Christ United Methodist Church in Northampton, MA.
